Are you young at heart, or an old soul?
Depends on the situation! I feel young most of the times – though, I guess, I don’t look so anymore   And I sound like an old soul sometimes too!

What makes someone a best friend?
I guess, in the whole wide world, except for parents, best friend can be only that person who can accept you as you are, without judging you, for even a second

What present do you remember the most?
I remember every single gift I have ever received. I love receiving them and the gesture stays with me forever.

Tell me about a movie/song/TV show/play/book that has changed your life.
Changed my life? Hmmmm, well, there are a lot of books and movies which have made me mull over them for lot many days, made me think beyond the obvious, intrigued me, changed my perspective about a couple of things. But if I have to pick one that has brought about a change in my life, it would have to be the TV series F.R.I.E.N.D.S.  I had missed it when it actually aired for those 10 long years and even though I knew about such a sitcom then, I had never bothered to watch any episode, until after 2 years of its finale episode. Once I started, I knew there was no going back. It’s now the ONE single show that I go back to whenever I just need a break from life! I have watched the show so many times, watched all the bloopers out there, and watched the finale with big fat tears rolling down my eyes, and yet, the show manages to amaze me every single time I watch it!

Name one physical feature that you like about yourself, and one you dislike
Like: My eyes.
Dislike: There’s nothing particularly that I dislike. But I do want to get back to my old slender frame.

What’s more important in a relationship: physical attraction or emotional connection?
Emotional connection, love, trust, honesty and a very good sense of humor!

What holiday do you most look forward to?
Any holiday that comes my way!

Name a song that never fails to make you happy.
I cannot pick one   and as I am tying this, Masakkali from Delhi – 6 is playing on TV and for now, I can say, that this is one of the many many many songs that has never failed to bring a smile on my face

If you could pick anywhere to live the rest of your life, where would it be?
We recently (well, I just realized that it’s about 2 years now) had to vacate the quarters that my mom had got from her University during her tenure. My family has been through its important milestones in this house. My mom’s journey from M.A to M.Phil., mine and my Brother’s graduation, our first jobs, my onsite, my wedding, my baby shower, my delivery, my brother’s higher studies, his wedding, my daughter’s childhood .. A lot and lot of memories associated with that house. When the time came for my parents to vacate and move to their own house, none of us wanted to.  Not even my daughter. She still misses the house and thinks this move is temporary and keeps asking us as to when we are moving back to OUR house. It was the hardest thing we ever had to do as a family.  The house was huge, old styled, red-oxide floors and red tiled roof, with a big garden surrounding the house on all four sides. It didn’t have these modern amenities like a modular kitchen or wardrobe-y bedrooms. It was not our own house as well, and we knew from the beginning, we’d vacate it someday… But when the time came, we couldn’t let go. We almost were ready to even buy that house if the University was ok to part with it, but well, that was not possible. I realized that a house is a home only because of the people in it and the happiness & memories you create with those people. Given a choice, though it’s not our own house, that’s the house, not only me, but we all want to go back to and live there for the rest of our life

Do you drink? Smoke? Do drugs? Why, or why not?
Nope! Just not inclined.

Where was your favorite place to go when you were a little kid?
My maternal grandparent’s place during summer vacation

Have you ever spent a night in the hospital?
Yes, and, I hate it. I hate hospitals and I feel really uncomfortable to even visit someone who is admitted to the hospital even if it is for just a few hours (so much for my childhood dream of becoming a doctor  ).

Do you enjoy being with only one or two friends, or with a large group of people?
Depends. I am mostly an one or two friend’s person.
Well, not that I do not enjoy a large group, but that again depends on the people in that crowd.

Do you like the type of music your parents listen to? Do your parents like the type of music you listen to?
Yes, my parents mostly love the old melodies and well, who doesn’t, so naturally, I like them too. Nothing like those melodies in these days!
As far as my parents are concerned, I am really not sure if they liked the type of music that I and my brother used to play loud on the stereo and dance like crazy. They never stopped us though. They were never strict parents to us lucky kids!

If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Anything from my mom’s kitchen! Anything! If I have to choose just one and have to omit mom’s cooking, then it would be these world famous cutlets that we get here in one of the Udupi restaurants named Diana! If you ever come to Udupi, do visit the restaurant and order cutlets, and I can safely vouch that you’ll never feel the same way for cutlets from anywhere else!
